STRIDES is a 501(c)(3) tutoring program that provides individual instruction to children struggling with reading and math. We welcome children with disabilities. Our students in 2007 achieved one grade level progress per 9.6 hours instruction, with the exception of those with mental retardation or those working below second grade level.

Our goal is to reach students who fail in school, especially those with disabilities and those whose families struggle financially. Tutoring options abound for those with financial means, but families of limited means have limited options. In order to make services available to families of all economic levels, STRIDES employs a sliding fee scale for parents, with additional scholarships available for those in the federal poverty and low income categories. These scholarships are provided by the generosity of community and corporate donors, such as the Simpson Foundation, the Bateman Matching Grant, ScanSource, RBC Insurance, and many generous individuals. Please join with us in our efforts to brighten the future of needy students.
One hundred percent of all donations to the Supplemental Scholarship Fund are applied solely to the academic needs of students. For instance, a tax deductible gift of $65 will make it possible for a child to receive 10 hours of instruction. This usually translates into two grade levels of progress. The happy smile on this child’s face will result from your generosity. Our prayer is that God will be magnified through your gift.

Our annual Yard Sale Fundraiser for our scholarship fund is September 13, 8:30 to 3:00, rain or shine, at New Covenant Christian Fellowship, 2723 Poinsett Hwy, Greenville, SC 29617
